Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
Until the mid of the 21st century life quality of the population was considered through the prism of the economic welfare concept, according to which it depends exclusively on the material welfare of the population and can be assessed only in monetary terms. Various scientific disciplines are interested in this category; it predetermines the change in the content of the notion “quality of life”. It becomes wider and more diverse, its structure – more complicated, covering a large number of areas. The article systematizes theoretical approaches to the definition of the structure of life quality of the population and identifies blocks of life quality recognized as the minimum necessary and most frequently observed in the works of Russian and foreign researchers. The paper describes and analyzes a structural model of life quality used in studies of the World Health Organization, the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS), as well as in the works of foreign and domestic experts in the field of life quality (R. Schalock, D. Felce, D. Perry, S. A. Aivazyan, G. M. Zarakovskii, etc.). It shows that the most frequently identified structural blocks of life quality in the modern Russian and foreign researches are the following: health (physical, mental, social), education, financial security, possibility of self-realization in work, social relations, family well-being, spiritual sphere, as well as comfort and safety of living. It proposed and justifies a four-part structural model of life quality, reflecting problematic areas most significant in economic terms and giving the opportunity for a regional comparison by available statistics
